The bettor had invested $4,624 on his ticket and cashed in for the fourth largest Pick Six payout in track history. The consolation payout for five winners on the bet was $4,386. Race #3: 3-7-9-10 box Race #4: 5-8-3-1 box Race #5: 7-8-9-2-6 box Race #6: 10-11-5-4 box Race #7: 5-1-3-4-7 / 5-1-3-4-7-9 / 5-1-3-4-7-9-10 and the horse most likely to upset this bet is the #8 Race #8: 10-7-6-2 / 10-7-6-2-1 / 10-7-6-2-1-3 This is a really tough race and you may want to skip it all together. On the other side of the coin, however, there should be a ton of value. Last but not least we have three horses which could upset this and make the payoff even bigger and those horses are the #8, #9 and #11. We’re scratching our heads and will end up making a last minute decision here. Posted in Del Mar

Free horse racing picks and predictions for Del Mar Park, Saturday – July 23, 2011 Surf and Turf is reminding us a lot of Saratoga, lately. Some upsets that weren’t entirely hard to pick amongst other things… just goes to show this is another track where it pays off to bet big. As with Saratoga, these are our early and tentative picks minus the scratches and you can more than likely expect further updates tomorrow before post time! We may even take a stab at that hefty carry over… Race #5: 8-7-9-3 / 8-7-9-3-1 / 8-7-9-3-1-5 Race #6: 1-2-6-7 / 1-2-6-7 / 1-2-6-7-3 Race #7: This is a super high risk/reward scenario. 6-8-9-7 / 6-8-9-7-4 / 6-8-9-7-2-5 and the horse most likely to upset is the #10 Lunch Time Diva. Race #8: 7-1-5-6 Race #9: 6-5-8-4 and we are also going to use the #10 The Full Lavino which should come at a hefty price. Race #10: 12-5-1-3-9 / 12-5-1-3-9 / 12-5-1-3-9-8 – We’re quite interested in the #7 Ohdaliz – the trainer says he’s fit and ready and could end up taking this at a fat price. The other one to watch out for is #6 Confectionist. Tough race for sure, we’ll be deciding right down to the minute. Posted in Del Mar

Free horse racing picks and predictions for Del Mar Park, Thursday – July 21, 2011 Ok so our opening day at Del Mar’s surf and turf wasn’t too hot. However, today we’re returning a little bit smarter and a little bit wiser and a little more keen on how thing’s run over there! Today is pretty chalky honestly, but here’s what we have pre-scratches and whatnot. Race #3: 8-6-3-4 / 8-6-3-4-7 / 8-6-3-4-7-5 and the #8 might be a fun WPS bet- this horse came off a solid debut race and could end up being the real deal. Great pedigree to boot. If you want to skip the exotics, just root this one home! Race #4: 5-3-4-6 / 5-3-4-6-10 / 5-3-4-6-10 Race #5: 8-6-5-3 Race #6: 9-10-5-2 / 9-10-5-2-1 / 9-10-5-2-1 Race #7: 6-5-4-3 / 6-5-4-3-1 / 6-5-4-3-1 Race #8 – Cooking up something for this race… if we decide to go for it, we’ll post it to our Twitter. Free horse racing picks and predictions for Del Mar Park, Wednesday – July 20, 2011 It’s opening day at Del Mar and we couldn’t be more excited to play here. We love when the surf meets the turf and today is looking like a great opener so let’s cross our fingers and get to pickin’ some winners! We’re covering all of our bases today so the plays are a little on the steep side, pockets beware! We’ll continue to play Del Mar, we’re learning more and more about the track, the bias, etc etc each and every year. So opening day could be a bust or a success, but one thing’s for sure… we’ll keep firing all year long! Race #5: 6-8-10-9 / 6-8-10-9-7 / 6-8-10-9-7-2 Race #6: 4-2-6-9 box. We’re looking closely at the #3 as well… but definitely doing a WPS on #2 Domonation- Has been performing well with tougher allowance horses, no reason this horse shouldn’t be able to get away from some claimers. Race #8: 3-1-8-4 / 3-1-8-4-6 / 3-1-8-4-6 Race #9: 5-4-8-9 / 5-4-8-9 / 5-4-8-9-10 Race #10: 9-5-2-10-12 / 9-5-2-10-12 / 9-5-2-10-12-13 / 9-5-2-10-12-13 – extremely tough race. Honestly the #14 AE Boomtown, #4 You Little Devil and #3 Fairfax Lion all could be in this… choose wisely! Or just skip it entirely, up to you! Posted in Del Mar
