Pimlico Picks
Free horse racing picks and predictions for the 2011 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico, Saturday – May 21, 2011

It’s currently 11:00pm here on the East coast as of this writing and we’ve analyzed The 2011 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico quite extensively up to this point. In these types of races it’s ever so difficult to expect any value on a bet by playing a cheap ticket and you’ll see that demonstrated in our selections below. The undercard looks to carry insane value and we’ll try to have those up early tomorrow. Please note that these Preakness picks are pre-scratches and pre-track conditions, changes, etc. We should have our finalized version up tomorrow, so please check back and remember to follow our Twitter for all the last minute info.

2011 Preakness at Pimlico Race #12: 10-9-11-8-14 / 10-9-11-8-14 / 10-9-11-8-14-1 / 10-9-11-8-14-1

Now, this bet can be broken down into three ways: a $1 exacta (10-9-11-8-14-1) is $30.

The first three legs of the bet would be constituted as a trifecta at $80. We realize this is pricey but we feel the value is there. We’ll see if we can shorten it down by tomorrow if our minds change.

All four legs of this bet can be made into a .10 superfecta for a cost of $24. Note on this bet we are considering adding the #6 Sway Away and #13 Concealed Identity onto the last leg of the superfecta, making the bet even more expensive at $40. We know, we know, we can hear you moaning already… but like we said, we feel the value is there and Animal Kingdom is no shoe-in for a victory here.

The #6 Sway Away is interesting to us and we feel this horse could bash all exotics, therefore a WPS will be placed on it.

It’s a big race with a lot of big prices. We think the payoff could be huge, but we’ve been wrong before. Check back tomorrow for further updates. Thanks for reading and best of luck! :)
